Indian Shuttlers Saina Nehwal and Srikanth Kidambi progress to the Second Round of Thailand Open BWF 500 Tournament in Bangkok on Wednesday 31.
Saina Nehwal and HS Prannoy progress easily to the second round. Other Indian shuttlers Kidambi Srikanth, Sai Praneeth and Parupalli Kashyap gave extra effort to break through the second Round however the Sourabh and Sameer Verma suffered first-round losses.
In women’s Singles, Ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal Defeated the Thailand shuttler Phittayaporn Chaiwan by 21-17,21-19 that lasted for 39 minutes. Saina Nehwal is playing Thailand Open after missing out in Indonesia Open and Japan Open. In the second round, Saina Nehwal is expected to face Sayaka Takahashi of Japan.
Other Women’s Singles shuttler Sai Uttejitha Rao lost to Chinese shuttler Chen Xiao Xin 21-17,21-7.
Men’s singles Kidambi Srikanth defeated Chinese Ren Peng Bo by 21-13, 17-21, 21-19. Match lasted till one hour and eight-minute, Peng gave a tough fight to Srikanth as the match went to three games.
B Sai Praneeth beat kantaphon Wangcharoen of Thailand in a match which lasted for one hour and 11 minutes. Praneeth bounced back after conceding the first game to win the match by 17-21, 21-17, 21-15.
In the other two matches in the men’s single event, H S Prannoy and P Kashyap progress to the second round after winning their respective matches.
H S Prannoy defeated Wong Wing Ki Vincent of Hong Kong by 21-16, 22-20 in straight games. Now Prannoy will face Kenta Nishimoto of Japan.
P Kashyap defeated Israel’s Misha Zilberman in a tough match by 18-21, 21-8, 21-14 match lasted till 51 minutes, now Kashyap is going to face Tien Chen Chou of Chinese Taipei in the second round.
In doubles, Satwik and Chirag Shetty defeated their seniors Manu Attri and Sumeeth Reddy 21-11,24-26,21-11.
In Mixed Doubles Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Ashwini Ponappa beat Chang Pen Soon/Goh Liu Ying (Mas) 21-18,18-21,21-17.
