Men’s Doubles team of Satwiksairaj Reddy and Chirag Shetty enters the Semifinals of Thailand Open 2019 on Friday 2. Both Players fought very hard in Quarterfinal to win against Korea’s Shuttlers Choi Solgyu and See Seung Jae. This combination of Indian shuttlers fought for exactly an hour to defeat the Korean rival by 21-17,17-21,21-19 in Quarterfinals.
The win was Rankireddy and Shetty’s maiden victory over the Korean pair. The 16th ranked Indian shuttlers will now face another Korean duo of Ko Sung Hyun and Shin Baek Cheol in the Semifinals Saturday.
India’s Men’s single’s challenge came to an end with Sai Praneeth’s exit. Sai Praneeth lost in Quarterfinals against Japanese Shuttler Kenta Tsuneyama. After giving a tough fight in the first set, Sai Praneeth who reached semifinals of last week Japan Open, lost by 18-21,12-21 in the men’s Singles Quarterfinals.
In the Mixed Doubles Satwiksairaj, Rankireddy/Ashwini Ponappa lost in the straight sets knocked out of the Tournament. The Duo Indian shuttlers Rankireddy and Ashwini were not in their best form during the course of the game both the shuttlers surrendered easily and the match didn’t even reach to 3rd Set.
Ranireddy/Ashwini lost against the Japanese Shuttlers Yuta Watanabe and Arisa Higashino of Japan in straight sets by 13-21,15-21 and match lasted for just 28 minutes.
