HS Prannoy crashed out of the men’s singles of Japan open after losing to Rasmus Gemke of Denmark by 9-21, 15-21 in the Second Round.

The Indian shuttler PV Sindhu made a massive comeback after losing the first set and defeated Aya ohori of Japan in the second round by 11-21,21-10,21-13 in a 61 minutes match. Sindhu now leads Ohori 8-0 in a win-loss record. Rio Olympic silver medalist PV Sindhu had beaten ohori in the last tournament of Indonesia Open in Jakarta. The 20th Rank Ohori gave a tough fight to 5th Rank Sindhu after winning the 1st set of the match however Sindhu bounce back and won the 2nd and 3rd set comfortably.

Now in Quarters Sindhu will next face the winner of the match between China’s Chen Xiao Xin and fourth-seeded Japanese Akane Yamaguchi, the Japanese shuttler is the same to whom she lost in the final of the Indonesia Open last week.

On the Other hand in Men’s Single’s B Sai Praneeth again gave an exceptional performance against the local shuttler Kanta Tsuneyama and defeated him in 2 straight sets by 21-13, 21-16 the match lasted till 45 minutes.

Praneeth who started his campaign with a comfortable victory against world’s no 11 players Japan’s Kento Nishimoto in Tokyo, defeated him by 21-17,21-13 in a match that lasted 42 minutes.

A heartbreak came in the men’s single’s as H S Prannoy, who had earlier knocked out Kidambi Srikanth in the Opening round by 13-21,21-11,22-20 in a match that lasted for an hour, lost to Rasmus Gemke of Denmark by 9-21, 15-21to crash out of the Tournament.

In Men’s double’s, the Indian duo Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty defeated China’s Huang Kai Xiang and Liu Cheng by 15-21,21-11,21-19 to reach the Quarterfinals however the mixed doubles pair of Ashwini Ponnappa and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy lost to Thailand’s Sapsiree Taerattanachai and Dechapoi Puavaranukroh 16-21,17-21 in a match that lasted 39 minutes.
