Indian Shuttlers started their campaign of World Championships with an impressive Wins on Monday in Basel. It seems they were in the Rhythm. Kidambi Srikanth , HS Prannoy and Sai Praneeth won their first game comfortably in Men’s Singles and advances to second round.
Indian Ace shuttler Kidambi Srikanth beat Irish Shuttler Nhat Nguyen , after losing the 1st game by 17-21 he made a brilliant comeback and win the second game by 21-16 . In the last last game skrinath didn’t even gave any chance to Opponent to recover and defeated him by 21-6, the match lasted for an hour and six minutes.
B Sai Praneeth defeated the Canadian shuttler Jason Anthony in a straight of 21-17, 21-16. Praneeth who was nominated for the Arjuna Award recently finish the first round in just 30minutes to enter the second round. He will now take on the winner of the 1st round match between South Korea’s Lee Dong Keun and Australia’s Daniel Fan in the second round on Tuesday.
On the other hand, HS Prannoy beat the Finland Shuttler Eetu Heino to advance in the second round. However after losing the first set by 17-21 Prannoy manages to make a great comeback and win the remaining two games by 21-10, 21-11. Prannoy is likely to face the Chinese legend Lin Dan in the second round.
In Women’s Doubles, Jakkampudi Meghana and Poorvisha Ram beat Diana Corleto and Nikte Alejandra of Guatemala in straight-games by 21-10, 21-18 to enter the second round.
The Indian shuttlers PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal got a bye in their first-round .directly they will play second. However, as per the new fixtures, these two Ace Indian Shuttlers might face each other in Semi-Finals.
